Isil Ezgi Celik.

I am the director of the London-based art platform capitArt and co-founder of the x-media curatorial initiative capitArtX. I hold a PhD in International Collaboration in the Arts, with a background in philosophy and art, questioning how techno-capitalism shapes humanity and creative practices, with a focus on social marginalisation and the impact of digital technologies—particularly AI—on society. I ‘think’ that true inclusivity requires diversity and transparency. From this critical standpoint, I initiate reflective projects that inspire dialogue across differences.

My life, spanning Paris, Istanbul, Mumbai, Serbia, Yangon, Tokyo, and London, along with my work in academia and the creative industries, reflects a multicultural and interdisciplinary perspective. Additionally, I engage in art direction, writing, and multimedia art for my personal pleasure.

Combining knowledge in philosophy, social criticism, and digital and x-media art aesthetics, I am interested in ethico-aesthetic approaches to digital creativity and contemporary society, drawing from their potential to dream of a more creative future while confronting the threats of cultural homogenisation and algorithmic control.
